Ayomide Elekuru Crowned Winner of the 11th Face of Nigeria Beauty Pageant
Ayomide Maryam Elekuru, a 19-year-old model, has emerged as the winner of the 11th edition of the FACE OF NIGERIA, a prestigious national beauty pageant. The competition, which saw over 70 semi-finalists and 32 finalists from across the country, concluded with Elekuru claiming the coveted crown. This marks Elekuru's second attempt at the title, following her impressive performance in the 2023 edition, where she reached the Top 8.
Born and raised in Oyo, Nigeria, Elekuru is the eldest of four siblings. Her parents, Olaitan Elekuru and Abiola Ibrahim, have been unwavering in their support of her ambitions. Currently, Ayomide is pursuing a degree in Pure and Applied Science at ESAE University in Benin Republic, balancing her academic studies with a budding modeling career.
Elekuru's modeling journey began at the age of 16 when she was scouted and signed by a top modeling agency. Over the years, she has not only excelled on the runway but has also become passionate about philanthropy. She has worked closely with organizations that focus on empowering young women and promoting mental health awareness.
In an interview with Ozoya Salami, the pageant director, he shared insights into what’s next for Queen Ayomide. "Ayomide has proven that the second time is the charm. We have long-term plans for her, and her victory is a significant step towards inspiring young girls in southwestern Nigeria to dream big. We’re building a brand around her that aligns with her passion for youth and women empowerment."
Elekuru will represent Nigeria on both continental and international stages, including the maiden edition of Miss Africa Queen and the Miss Multicultural Pageant in Vietnam.
Looking ahead, Ayomide Elekuru has ambitious plans. She aims to become a leading figure in the modeling industry, working with top designers and brands globally. She also plans to advocate for body positivity and mental health awareness, using her platform to inspire young women around the world.
In addition to her modeling career, Elekuru hopes to pursue a degree in fashion design and launch her own sustainable and inclusive clothing line.
